Craig Freeman

Craig N. Freeman is a 29 year veteran of the California Fire Service. Starting his career with the Los Angeles County Fire Department in July 1980. Craig was assigned to an Air Attack Camp as a Fire Suppression Aide. In October 1981 Craig accepted a Firefighter position with Oxnard Fire Department. In August 1998 Craig was promoted to the rank of Fire Captain and in March of 2009 Captain Freeman retired. Captain Freeman’s assignments have included recruitment, training, administrative, suppression, regional Haz Mat, facilitator and assignment to various committees. Captain Freeman’s many accomplishments with the Oxnard Fire Department. include, Ventura County Firefighter of the Year, Oxnard City Employee of the Quarter, Ventura County Boy Scout Council Advisor of the Year, Co-originator of Fire Explorer Post 9244 and youth leader. Captain Freeman finished his Fire Service career with the California State Fire Marshal’s office in Sacramento as a subject matter expert collaborating on the newly rewritten Fire Control III curriculum.

Captain Freeman holds an AS degree in Fire Science from Oxnard College, is a graduate of the Oxnard Leadership Academy, holds State and Federal Haz Mat certifications. Also a California State Senior Fire Control III Coordinator/Instructor.

Craig has served as an adjunct advisor/instructor to the California Fire Explorer Academy, past president and board member of the Los Angeles City Fire Department. Boat and Ski Club, and currently Vice President of Plugugly’s Firefighter Motorcycle Club.

In 1994 Craig started the web site FIRECAREERS.com. Over the last 28 years PFC has helped thousands of people search and find FIRECAREERS across the Country. Craig does motivational speaking, Internet marketing, developing intellectual and proprietary properties, private coaching, career planning and development.

Wow, what a job and the journey was about as bumpy and filled with road blocks and hurdles as you can imagine. However, we made it and to that end we have a new and improved web site for you.
